Carl House Upper Ballroom Dedicated to Long Time Employee, Director of Sales, Faye Pressley!

A long time commitment to a job well done can have its benefits. Wedding expert and Director of Sales at Carl House,Faye Pressley, knows her business and her employer, owner BB Webb, knows and values that fact! Having worked at the venue almost since the time Webb opened, in July of 2003, Ms. Pressley has made the kind of difference in Webb's establishment that warrants attention. So much so, that Webb decided to dedicate the upper ballroom in her gorgeous, renovated, turn of the century mansion to Ms. Pressley. Above the historic Durham Ballroom you will now find the 'Faye Pressley Mezzanine.'

"She's an extraordinary woman who the brides and the mother of the brides adore. She has a unique and delightful southern charm, she listens carefully to what they want and has a grace, elegance and charm about her that is infectious! I may be the owner of Carl House, but Faye is truly the matriarch and she deserves the honor of this dedication more than I can express! She has stood beside me through all kinds of weather building Carl House since the beginning! I am filled with gratitude!"
--BB Webb

A dedication was held in Ms. Pressley's honor at 9:30am on Thursday January 29th at Carl House. For more information about Carl House, visit www.carlhouse.com or www.CarlCorporateRetreat.com or call 770-586-0095.

Different Point of View

Of course we think Carl House is amazing, but see what others have to say...

Welcome to Carl House

As I drove down the gravel entrance to the beautiful Carl House last Monday, I had little idea as to what was in store for my first day as an intern. I have to admit that peering at the grandeur of the structure before me, I was a little intimidated. I had heard so much about Carl House and its wonderful reputation, I didn't know what to expect. However, as I stepped inside onto the wood and marble floor, all nerves were calmed. The warmth of the cherry-stained wood, the soft melody of jazz playing in the background, the rays of sun gleaming through the large windows in the spacious ballroom, the smell of food cooking in the kitchen all combined to create a comforting atmosphere. The house exuded tenderness and sweetness; I felt immediately at ease! My greeting was furthered by an array of smiles as the entire Carl House team welcomed me to my new job. They took the time to learn my name, never referring to me as 'intern' as had been the case during previous internships. I learned quickly that the key to the success and reputation of Carl House is their kindness and ability to make you feel valued and welcome.

Throughout my first week I was treated with trust and respect, even after mistakenly hanging-up on a few clients while learning to conquer the phone lines. I was impressed with the clear work standards they have in place; the way they effectively and efficiently have a process for everything, right down to the way they serve coffee. I was inspired by the vision, mission and value statements created by the team, which are prominently displayed in the kitchen. Each week the team reviews these statements to ensure they are delivering what they promise, "21st Century Southern Hospitality." A promise that is not only met, but exceeded.

I can't wait to see what week two has to offer, as the continued compassion has left me wondering... if they treat the interns this way, how must they treat the brides? I am greatly appreciative to everyone at Carl House for not only granting me this great opportunity, but for encouraging me every step along the way. As I drive away each day on the same quaint gravel road, I know that this isn't just a house, it's a home. I hope you'll come visit Carl House and experience the same warmth as I have. At the very least give us a call, and I promise I'll do my best not to hang-up on you!
